About APT Tunes

‘APT Tunes’ is the official bulletin of the Academy of Physics Teachers. It is temporally registered with the News Papers and Periodicals Society of India with Reg. No. M2- 28873 / 2000. APT Tunes is published quarterly and circulated among its members free of cost. It announces the policies of the Academy, keeps the members updated in physics, helps them out with advanced topics in physics, suggests good books for their reference and above all inspires the readers to learn and convey physics as they should do in this century. The journal contains information regarding the various forthcoming academic programmes of the Academy, reports of such completed programmes, recent developments in physics and news from the campus. Apart from these, it contains good and selected articles in physics under different banners like ‘Popular Science’, ‘Views’, ‘Focus’, ‘Recent Developments’, Great Discoveries’ ‘Biographical Sketches’ , ‘Study Materials’, ‘Book Review’, ‘Conceptions and Misconceptions’ and ‘ Experiments and Projects’. It proclaims the awards and honors received by its members, gives them challenging problems in physics for solving and encourages the readers with timely and thoughtful ‘Editorials’. It also publishes all kinds of responses from the readers under the banner ‘Letter to the Editor’.

The Chief Editor of the bulletin is the President of the Academy, Managing Editor, the Secretary of the Academy and Executive Editor, the person elected by the General Body from time to time. Prof. P. T. Kurian, Head of the Department of Physics, K. E. College Mannanam served as the Executive Editor for a period of four years from 1999 to 2003. An Editorial Board is constituted by the Executive Committee of the Academy to help the Executive Editor for bringing out the issues of the bulletin in time.
