APT Physics Talent Search Examinations

APT Physics Talent Search examination aims to identify and recognize talented students in physics in Kerala and to promote them so that they pursue a better career in physics. First year, Second year and Final year B.Sc Physics (Main) students are eligible for appearing for the examination. Talent Search examination consists of a written examination followed by an interview. Aggregate score of both will be counted for ranking the toppers. Click on the below links for more details.

Talent Search Examination 2026-27

STRUCTURE OF TSE 2026–27

The TSE consists of three parts. The examinations are based on the higher secondary Physics syllabus:

Part A: Online Exam

Eligibility: Students currently enrolled in the first three years of a UG Physics or Integrated MSc Physics program in University Departments or affiliated colleges under State Universities in Kerala.
Format: 30 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
Duration: 1 hour.
Scoring: No negative marking for incorrect answers.
Execution: A Google Form link will be shared with Centre Coordinators 2 minutes before the exam starts. Coordinators must share this link in the registered students’ WhatsApp group.
Requirements: Students can take the exam using a computer or smartphone. They must submit a declaration stating that they will attend the exam with 100% honesty.

Part B: Descriptive Exam

Eligibility: The top 10% of students from Part A will qualify for Part B.
Format: Printed question paper.
Duration: 1 hour.
Scoring: Marks will be awarded for correct steps and formulae.

Part C: Interview

Eligibility: The top 20 students (based on scores from Part B) will qualify for Part C.
Format: Online or Offline.
Allowances: Travelling Allowance (TA) will be provided for students attending the offline interview. Final Rank List

The final rank list will be prepared by assigning the following weightage to each part of the exam:

Part A: 20%
Part B: 40%
Part C: 40%
